Michael Anthony Deering stage name Playboy Mikey D is an American Rapper. Born November 25, 1967,
Playboy Mikey D is best known for being a lead member of the groups: LA Posse and Main Source. He is
also known as the one of the Best Battle Rappers to this day.

Mikey D is from Laurelton Queens, New York, He started rapping at a young age after hearing music by
the Cold Crush Brothers in 1979. Mikey D was also youngest member to join the Clientele Brothers in
the early 80’s While in high school Playboy Mikey D met future Emcee/Actor Cool J, when he suggested to Cool J to use the stage name Ladies Love. Cool J shortened the stage name to just “LL” then added it to Cool J.
In 1985 Mikey D and the LA Posse were signed to Public Records and released a song called “My
Telephone in 1987 and followed up with a few more singles the same year.
Mikey D was the winner of the New Music Seminar Battle for World Supremacy in 1988, where he
battled the Legendary Grandmaster Melle Mel. In 1993 Playboy Mikey D would become an official
member of the group “Main Source” where they released a single called: “What you Need” which did
well on the Billboard’s Hot Rap Singles, peaking at #48 on the charts.

Mikey D a solo album: “Day of D’Struction (2016, Elements of Hip Hop) In 2020, Playboy Mikey D
released his distribution Company “Pass the Torch” where he is the founder and is currently doing the
day-to-day operations. He is also the host of his own show on YouTube called Mikey D History (his story).
Currently, Playboy Mikey D has partnered with Grandmaster Vic “Creator of the Blends” to form the
